MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Willie Clay Herrell, 26 May 2005

BAKERSVILLE - Willie Clay Herrell, 95, of the Glen Ayre community, died
Thursday, May 26, 2005, at his home. He was the son of the late George and Ida
Street Herrell. He was a retired truck driver and a bus driver for the
Mitchell County School System. He was a member of Roan Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Etta Buchanan Herrell of the home; daughters,
Carolyn Vaassen of Morganton, Marilyn Sellers of Kings Mountain, and Ida
Herrell of Johnson City, TN; and four grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Roan Valley Baptist Church.
Roger Hoilman and Adam Brewer officiated. Burial followed in Buchanan Family
Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour at
the church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O.
Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was
in charge of arrangements.
