MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Marjorie Hickey, 2 Feb 2005

SPRUCE PINE - Marjorie Hickey, 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 in a Spruce
Pine rest home. She was the daugher of the late John Ed and Etta Lowery Mace,
and wife of the late James Scott Hickey Jr. She was also preceded in death by
a son, David Hickey. She and her husband were owners and operators of Hickey's
Supermarket.

Survivors include her sons, John Hickey of Marion, and Charles A. Hickey of
Waverly, TN; sisters, Edith Collis of Blowing Rock, and Louise Burleson of
Salisbury; one granddaughter; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at Berry Chapel Baptist Church.
Rev. Greg Hollifield officiated. Burial was in Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Lake Waccamaw Boys Home, P.O. Box 127, Lake
Waccamaw, NC 28450. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of
arrangements.
