WILLIAM GIBBS HONEYCUTT JR.

BAKERSVILLE - William Gibbs Honeycutt Jr., 87, of Hwy. 226 North, 
died Saturday, May 3, 2003 in Mountain Home,VA Medical Center. He 
was the son of the late William Gibbs Sr. and Bertie Garland 
Honeycutt. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline 
Marshall and Cleo Renfro. A member of Mountain View Baptist Church, 
he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Whitson Honeycutt of the home; two 
daughters, Eloise Gouge of Asheville, and Barbara Jenkins of 
Bakersville; one sister, Doris Whitson of Gray, TN; four grandchildren; 
and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Ulis Miller and Roger Laws 
officiated. Burial was at 2 p.m. tuesday in Roselawn Cemetery in 
Johnson City, TN. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the 
service hour at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to 
Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777, or 
Adventa Hospice, 106 Rogosin Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
