MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Fred Honeycutt, 15 Jan 2004

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Fred Honeycutt, 93, of the Pigeon Roost community, 
died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He 
was the son of the late Will and Emma Howell Honeycutt. He was also 
preceded in death by four brothers, Sid, Ike, Rob and Garrett 
Honeycutt; and two sisters, Alice Bennett and Hulda Miller.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Laws Honeycutt of the home; sons, 
Paul and Dan Honeycutt, both of Green Mountain, Frank Honeycutt of 
Bald Mountain, and Van Honeycutt of the home; daughters, Louise 
Honeycutt and Ethel Honeycutt, both of Burnsville; and 17 grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Upper Pigeon Roost 
Church. Revs. Larry Bodford, Jeff Fox and Reed Bagby officiated. 
Burial was in Bennett Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 
p.m. Thursday at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in 
charge of arrangements.
