MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Jess Honeycutt, 1 Dec 2004 ----¤¤¤¤---- JESS HONEYCUTT GERMANTOWN - Jess Honeycutt, 82, formerly of Spruce Pine, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004. He was the son of the late Garrett and Mary Hodges Honeycutt. He was also preceded in death by a son, Kennneth Ray Honeycutt; sisters, Kathleen Elliott and Mamie Honeycutt; and three brothers, Ruben, David and Herbert Honeycutt. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired as a master mechanic for Babcock and Willis Construction Company. He was a member of King Masonic Lodge 722 and the American Shrine Center. He was a charter member of the Stokes County Shrine Club and the King Hillbillys. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Louise Duncan Honeycutt of the home; a daughter, Brenda Harris of Germantown; a son, Tommy Lee Honeycutt of Germantown; sisters, Vistie Musick of Newdale, Wanda Roberts of Waynesville, and Earlene Pittman, Barbara Hughes and Thelma Boone, all of Alliance, OH; brothers, Perry and Charles Honeycutt, both of Spruce Pine; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Burial was in Newdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the funeral home.
