STELLA WHITSON HOPSON

BAKERSVILLE - Stella Whitson Hopson, 87, of Lee Gouge Drive, 
died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003 at her home. She was the daughter 
of James and Texie Garland Whitson, and wife of the late Woodrow 
Gouge and Garrett Hopson. She was also preceded in death by a 
son, Harold Dean Gouge.
Survivors include one sister, Belle Greene of Johnson City, TN; 
one brother, J.B. Whitson of Johnson City; two grandchildren; 
and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of 
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Adam Brewer 
officiated. Burial was at 1 p.m. Friday in Gouge Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6:30 until the service hour Thursday 
at the funeral home.
