ILO LEDFORD HUGHES

BAKERSVILLE – Ilo Ledford Hughes, 80, of Broad Branch Road, died Sunday, 
October 14, 2001 at his home. He was the son of the late Rexter and Lettie 
Ingram Ledford, and wife of the late Ernest Hughes. She was also preceded in 
death by a daughter, Betty Gail Hughes; a son, Ernie Lee Hughes; a sister, 
Gladys Campbell; brothers, Clarence and Robert Ledford; and a granddaughter, 
Martha Ann Jenkins. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Freewill 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Troutman of Bakersville, and Evelyn 
Jenkins of Johnson City, TN; one son, Lawrence A. Hughes of Bakersville; six 
grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Freewill Baptist 
Church. Revs. Roger Laws and Ulis Miller officiated. Burial followed in Hughes 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the church.
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge of arrangements.
