BARBARA ANN HUGHES

BAKERSVILLE - Barbara Ann Hughes, 65, of Pigeon Roost 
Road, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital 
in Asheville. A native of Washington County, TN, she was 
the daughter of Mary Eva Miller Hughes and the late 
Raymond Hughes. She was a secretary for Crest Department 
Stores and a member of Huntdale Union Church. She was 
also a member of Bradshaw Fire Department First Responders.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by sisters, 
Virginia Taylor of Appalachian, VA, O'neil Adkins of 
Charlotte, and Janice Williams of Lexington; brothers, 
Timothy Ray Hughes of Roan Mountain, TN, John Hughes of 
Green Mountain, and Danny and Tony Hughes of Jonesborough, 
TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 12 noon on Tuesday at 
Huntdale Cemetery. Rev. Blaine Whitson officiated.
