EDD JOHNSON 

ERWIN, TN - Edd Johnson, 78, of Edney Lane, died Monday, May 8, 2006. A native 
of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Noah and Texanna Bennett 
Johnson. A member of Toe River Freewill Baptist Church, he was retired from 
Clinchfield and CSX Railroad (Maintenance) after 42 years.

Survivors include his wife, Elena Peterson Johnson of the home; daughters, 
Linda Gray and Debora Grindstaff, both of Green Mountain; a son, Eddie Gene 
Johnson of Green Mountain; sisters, Evelyn Bailey of Erwin, TN, and Doris 
Tipton of Green Mountain; one brother, Hunley Johnson of Mountain City, TN; 
four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held Thursday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral 
Home in Bakersville. Burnie Jones, Russell Hughes and Randy Lester officiated. 
Burial was Friday in Peterson Cemetery on Huntdale Road.
