HOMER FRANK JOHNSON 

SPRUCE PINE - Homer Frank Johnson, age 92, of Phillips Lane, died Sunday, July 
30, 2006 at his home. A lifelong resident of Mitchell County, he was the son 
of the late Stokes Marion and Sophie Pitman Johnson. Johnson was also preceded 
in death by his wife Helen Hensley Johnson, brother Ralph Johnson and sisters 
Mabel Garrison, Edith Wilson and Kate Browning. He was a member of the Central 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Louise Tomberlin of Micaville, Marquitta 
Holtsclaw of Spruce Pine and Linda Robinson of Richmond, Ky; sons Kenneth 
(Jack) Johnson of Troutman, and Phillip Johnson of Harrisburg; 10 
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 in the Central 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Sutton officiating. Entombment followed in 
the Spruce Pine Mausoleum. The family received friends one hour prior to the 
service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Spruce 
Pine Community Hospital Foundation, 125 Hospital Dr., Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
