ROBERT GRANT JOHNSON 

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Robert Grant Johnson, 73, of Pate Creek Road, died Friday, 
Feb. 9, 2007 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the son of the late 
Lester and Eva Griffith Johnson. He was also preceded in death by two 
brothers, Arvil and Ted Johnson. He was a retired machine operator with 
Henredon Furniture Company and a member of Upper Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist 
Church.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Street Johnson of the home; a daughter, 
Debbie Bartlett of Green Mountain; two sons, Michael and Danny Johnson, both 
of Green Mountain; sisters, Ruby Distasio of Oregon, and Hester Hughes of 
Swannanoa; two brothers, David Johnson of Colorado, and Ronald Johnson of 
Florida; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Steve Cochran and Wesley Keith Miller officiated. 
Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday in Bennett Cemetery on Pigeon Roost Road. The 
family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
