PLEZ N. JONES 

SPRUCE PINE - Plez N. Jones, 81, of Shannon Drive, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006 
at his home. He was the son of the late Alvin and Gertie Hughes Jones. He was 
also preceded in death by one brother, Burl Jones; and one sister, Sylvia 
Ollis. He was a member of Berry Chapel Baptist Church and retired from the 
Department of Transportation as county foreman.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Wilson Jones of the home; two sons, 
Phillip and Eddie Jones, both of Spruce Pine; two brothers, Ferd Jones of 
Canton, Ohio, and Durl Jones of Newland; four grandchildren; one great-
granddaughter; and one step-great-granddaughter. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Berry Chapel Baptist Church. 
The Revs. Greg Hollifield, George Gouge and Ricky Mason officiated. Burial 
followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until 
the service hour at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine assisted the 
family.
