GEORGIA INGRAM JENKINS

BAKERSVILLE - Georgia Ingram Jenkins, 73, of Hwy. 226N, died 
Wednesday, Apr. 9, 2003 at her home. She was the daughter of the 
late Dewey and Mae Street Ingram Sr., and wife of the late Daniel 
Vernard Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, 
Clarence and Dewey Ingram Jr. She was a seamstress by trade and 
worked as a supervisor at Hampshire Hosiery. She was a member of 
Middle District Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Jenkins of Bakersville; sisters, 
Lois Shaffer of Hanover, PA, and Joyce Ingram of Bakersville; 
brothers, David Ingram of Johnson City, TN, and William Ingram of 
Simpsonville, SC; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Middle District 
Freewill Baptist Church. Bud Edwards, Howard Honeycutt, Scotty 
Jenkins and Kevin Laws officiated. Burial followed in the church 
cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the 
church. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, 
P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in 
Bakersville was in charge of arrangements.
