KATHERINE JOHNSON
SPRUCE PINE – Katherine Johnson, of Sunshine Circle, died Friday, May 10, 
2002 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Dora Hoilman 
Warren. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Buchanan.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Johnson, of the home; two sons, Ron and 
Donnie Johnson of Spruce Pine; one daughter, Darlene Brandl of Spruce Pine; 
one sister, Nell West of Union Mills, SC; three brothers, John Warren of 
Spruce Pine, Edward Warren of Raleigh and Henry Warren of Plumtree; and 
six grandchildren.
A memorial gathering was held at the home at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
