GLADYS JOHNSON

BAKERSVILLE - Gladys Johnson, of the Mine Creek community, died Monday, 
Sept. 8, 2003 at her home. She was the daughter of the late George and 
Ruth Ledford, and wife of the late Cecil Leo Johnson. She was a member 
of White Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Merilyn Andrews of Cedar Ridge, AK; a 
sister, Anne Harrison of Winchester, KY; two grandsons; and three great 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday at White Oak Baptist Church. 
Revs. Jack Michaels and Chris Rathbone officiated. Burial was at 10 a.m. 
Friday in Wilson Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until 
the service hour Thursday at the church. Memorial donations may be made 
to Wilson Cemetery, c/o Darrell Ledford, 1217 Green Young Cemetery Road, 
Bakersville, NC 28705. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of 
arrangements.
