MINNIE CARROLL JONES

SPRUCE PINE – Minnie Carroll Jones, 97, of Broad Street, died Wednesday 
in the Brian Center of Spruce Pine. A homemaker and native of Yancey 
County, she was the daughter of the late Vance and Hessie Boone Carroll, 
and wife of the late Ragan Jones. She was also preceded in death by a 
sister, Jewel J. Davis; and a brother, George W. Carroll.

Survivors include two daughters, Edna J. Padgett of Bakersville and 
Wilma J. King of Littletown, PA; two sons, Robert B. Jones and Billy V. 
Jones, both of Spruce Pine; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 
and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Travis 
Newton, Harry McCall and Rae Padgett officiated. Burial was in Spruce 
Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior 
to the service at the funeral home.
