LEWIS KING 
 
MATTHEWS - Lewis King, 76, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 at his home, after an 
extended illness. Born in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late William 
and Thelma Greene King. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dayton 
King, and a sister, Estelle McKinney. He was retired from the U.S. Army, and 
later from the Sales Department of Harrelson Ford Company.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Barlett King; two sons, Danny King Silvers of 
Pineola, and Jimmy King of Matthews; three daughters, Marsha Hughes and Stacy 
Flowe, both of Matthews, and Tonya Link of Statesville; two brothers, Clinton 
King of Indian Trail, and George W. King of Morganton; two sisters, Mary Helen 
Woody and Anna Lee Wyatt, both of Spruce Pine; nine grandchildren; and one 
great-grandchild. 

Funeral services were held last Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home of Indian 
Trail.
