JUNE BEVERLY GARLAND LENTZ 

SPRUCE PINE - June Beverly Garland Lentz, 83, died Monday, May 22, 2006 in 
Aston Park Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late J.R. and 
Beverly Bowman Garland, and wife of the late Dr. K.J. Lentz Sr. She was also 
preceded in death by a sister, Irma Garland Bailey Boys. She worked at 
Hamilton National Bank of Tennessee, then as her husband's secretary. She was 
a member of Spruce Pine United Methodist Church, where she served on the 
Administration Board and president of the Methodist Women's Association for 
several years. She was also a member of Spruce Pine Senior Women's Club, and 
the N.C. State Optometrist Auxiliary for Women, as well as a Red Cross 
Volunteer and Boy Scout den mother.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Ken Lentz of Spruce Pine; and a cousin, Wanda 
Presnell. 

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Spruce Pine United Methodist 
Church. Revs. Lynda Briggs and Tracy Carroll officiated. Burial followed in 
Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. at 
Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Memorial donations may be made to Spruce 
Pine United Methodist Church General Fund.
