LAWRENCE LEDFORD

SPRUCE PINE - Lawrence R. Ledford, 69, of the Upper Hanging Rock 
community, died Thursday, March 6, 2003 in an Asheville hospital. 
He was the son of the late Albert and Hattie Patrick Ledford. He 
was retired from Henredon Furniture, and a charter member and usher 
at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Ledford of the home; daughters, 
Janice Horton and Jean Cassida, both of Spruce Pine, and Sherry 
Franklin of Burnsville; sons, Johnny and Ricky Ledford, both of 
Spruce Pine; sisters, Kate Jones and Viola Hall, both of Marion; 
13 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Missionary 
Baptist Church. Rev. Darrin Waldroup officiated. Burial was in the 
church cemetery. The family received friends from 3 p.m. until the 
service hour Saturday at the church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce 
Pine was in charge of arrangements.
