MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Peggy Grindstaff Lee, 27 Mar 2004

SPRUCE PINE - Peggy Grindstaff Lee, 86, of the Crabtree community, died 
Saturday, Mar. 27, 2004 at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. She was the 
daughter of the late Cleveland and Texie Whetstine Grindstaff, and wife 
of the late Virgil Lee. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, 
Nina Lyons.

Survivors include her daughters, Margie Angel and Paulette Buchanan of 
Newdale, Mabel Whitson and Francis Stamey of Spruce Pine; Carolyn Burleson 
and Beatrice Pitman of Bakersville, and Alma Lee of Marion; a son, Raymond 
Lee of Burnsville; sisters, Lilly and Mamie McNeil; 16 grandchildren; and 
11 great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Crabtree Chapel Baptist 
Church. Revs. Ronnie Gouge, Dallas Renfro and Fred Proctor officiated. 
Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 
6-8 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
