MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - James Wesley Lewis, 3 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- GREEN MOUNTAIN - James Wesley Lewis, 84, of Brummitts Creek Road, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the son of the late James and Betty Ann Cook Lewis. A member of Huntdale Union church, he was retired from Henredon Furniture Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Veterans of Foreign War in Burnsville. Survivors include his wife, Ella Hughes Lewis of the home; a son, Don Lewis of Pfafftown; a daughter, Matilda McPeters of Green Mountain; sisters, Annie Day of Ringgold, VA, Viola Day of Fayetteville, and Irene Adkins of Blairs, VA; and one grandson. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline- Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Blane Whitson and Corey Lewis officiated. Graveside rites were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Flat Branch Cemetery, conducted by D.A.V. Sgt. Emmitt L. Randolph, Chapter 57 Burnsville.
