RACHEL DELLINGER LYONS

BAKERSVILLE - Rachel Dellinger Lyons, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 
7, 2002 at the Brian Center in Spruce Pine. She was the daughter 
of the late Marvel Greenberry and Susan Buchanan Dellinger, and 
wife of the late Carthie Lyons. She was also preceded in death 
by two sister, Edith Edwards and Mabel Hollifield; and two 
brothers, Stephen and James Dellinger. A member of Cane Creek 
Baptist Church, she was retired from the State of Virginia 
Department of Highways.
Survivors include a sister, Ruth Lamkin of Plainsboro, NJ; a 
brother, Jack Dellinger of Pensacola, FL and Bakersville; and 
several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Cane Creek 
Cemetery. Revs. Mark McKinney and John Stafford officiated. 
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge of 
arrangements
