DOROTHY ELLIS McHONE 

SPRUCE PINE - Dorothy Ellis McHone, 78, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. She was 
the daughter of the late Claude and Hettie Swann Ellis, and wife of the late 
Raymond McHone. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Faye Bridges. She 
was a homemaker and loved to cook and sew. She was a member of Grassy Creek 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam Snyder of Spruce Pine; a sister, Peggy 
Porter of Shelby; two brothers, Sam Ellis of Hampton, Va., and David Ellis of 
Shelby; and two grandsons. 

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Grassy Creek Baptist 
Church. Burial followed in Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens. The family received 
friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
