ESTELLE KING MCKINNEY 
SPRUCE PINE - Estelle King McKinney, 72, of the Kalmia community, died Monday, 
Jan. 9, 2006. She was the daughter of the late William and Thelma Greene King, 
and wife of the late Glenn McKinney. She was also preceded in death by an 
infant granddaughter, Aleasha Johnson. She was employed by Hampshire Hosiery 
for 30 years and was a member of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry and Jack McKinney, both of Burnsville; two 
daughters, Janet Johnson of Linville, and Judy Arrington of Spruce Pine; two 
sisters, Anna Lee Wyatt and Mary Helen Woody, both of Spruce Pine; three 
brothers, Clinton and Lewis King, both of Charlotte, and Willard King of 
Morganton; nine grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. 

Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Allen Laws and Jackie Silvers 
officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Thursday in Harris Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral 
home.
