GLADYS BREWER MASTERS
BAKERSVILLE – Gladys Brewer Masters, 96, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002 
in Asbury Center, Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Roby 
and Hannah Sheppard Brewer. She was preceded in death by her husband 
Charles Burnie Masters; sons, Jack ans Lloyd Masters; daughter, Mary Lou 
Bartley; sisters, Hazel B. Conley and Haskel B. Johnson; brothers, 
Wesley, Ralph, Elbert, Howard and Clinton Brewer; and one grandson. 
Survivors include daughters and son-in-laws Nancy Lee and Lynn Taylor 
of Johnson City, Billie Jo and Ernie Cross of Johnson City, Shelia and 
Bob Billis of Baskersville; son, Charles B. Masters Jr, and wife Teresa 
of Macon; son-in law, JD Bartley of Mt. Airy; brother-in-law, Fred 
Masters and wife Bertie of Baskersville and Mooresville; sisters, Ella 
reynolds of Marion, Mildred Gilley of Newdale; eleven grandchildren and 
thirteen great grandchildren. Services will be 8 p.m. Friday, June 14, 
at Henline-Hughes Chapel. Rev. Frank Herbert will be officiating. The 
family will recieve friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Henline-Huges 
Funeral Home. Other times at the home of Shelia and Bob Bullis on Bee 
Branch. Burial will be Saturday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Masters Cemetery.
