He was the son of the late Ruben and Harrie Freeman McKinney, and husband of the late Gertrude Stamey McKinney. A member of White Oak Baptist Church, he was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Wood of Winston-Salem; two sons, Ralph Everette McKinney of Reidsville, and Wayne McKinney of Piedmont, OK; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 12 noon Saturday at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Larry Greene officiated. Burial was in Green-Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday.
