FARNUM MCKINNEY 

BAKERSVILLE – Farnum McKinney, 94, of Loggy Hollow Road, died Thursday, March 
22, 2001 at Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine. He was the son of the late 
Ruben and Harrie Freeman McKinney, and husband of the late Gertrude Stamey 
McKinney. A member of White Oak Baptist Church, he was a self-employed 
carpenter and farmer. 

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Wood of Winston-Salem; two sons, Ralph 
Everette McKinney of Reidsville, and Wayne McKinney of Piedmont, OK; seven 
grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 12 noon Saturday at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home 
in Bakersville. Rev. Larry Greene officiated. Burial was in Green-Young 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour on 
Saturday.
