LILLIE BOWMAN MCKINNEY 

BAKERSVILLE – Lillie Bowman McKinney, 85, of White Oak Creek Crossing, died 
Saturday, March 24, 2001 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Adam 
Ledford and Donna Ledford Speaks. She was also preceded in death by husbands, 
John Arthur Bowman and Homer Lee McKinney. She was a homemaker and member of 
Cane Creek Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Eloise Richards of Douglasville, GA, and 
Barbara Allen of Bakersville; four sons, Arthur John Bowman of Aragon, GA, 
Charles Claude Bowman and Homer Lee McKinney of Bakersville; and Larry Dean 
McKinney of Ridgecrest; one sister, Annie Buchanan of Bakersville; 10 
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Ronnie Gouge and Charles Duyck officiated. 
Burial was Tuesday in Green-Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 
p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be
