TED E. MCKINNEY

PENLAND - Ted E. McKinney, 99, of Conley Ridge Road, died 
Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He 
was the son of the late John and Mary Garland McKinney. He 
was also preceded in death by three sisters, Nell Pitman, 
Jean Bowditch and Madge Buchanan. He was retired from Boeing 
Aircraft as a hydraulic technician.
Survivors include his wife, Jesse Morgan McKinney of the home; 
a son, Rodney McKinney of Baltimore, MD; one grandson; and 
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bear Creek 
Baptist Church. Revs. Chris Rathbone and Howard Buchanan 
officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Thursday in Conley Ridge 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the 
service hour Wednesday at the church.
