MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Pearl Buchanan McKinney, 15 Jul 2004

SPRUCE PINE - Pearl Buchanan McKinney, 78, of Feldspar Street, died 
Wednesday, July 14, 2004 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was 
the daughter of the late Counsel and Aggie Ledford Buchanan, and wife 
of the late Joseph Tom McKinney. She was also preceded in death by a 
daughter, Brenda, and a son, Tommy. She was a member of Mt. Carmel 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail McGee of Spruce Pine; a son, Scotty 
Buchanan of Spruce Pine; sisters, Myrtle Ollis and Mary Belle Sparks, 
both of Spruce Pine; a brother, Billy Buchanan of Spruce Pine; and one 
step-grandson. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Dr. David Vess 
and Rev. Greg Hollifield officiated. Burial was in Spruce Pine Memorial 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the 
funeral home.
