BAKERSVILLE - Odia Stamey McKinney, 91, of Young Cove Road, died 
Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004 in Brian Center Healthcare. She was the 
daughter of the late Charles and Della Turbyfill McKinney, and wife 
of the late Earl James McKinney. She was also preceded in death by 
a daughter, JoAnn McKinney; a sister, Gertrude McKinney; and brothers, 
Claude, Ralph and Jeter Stamey. A homemaker, she was a member of Roan 
Mountain Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Joe H. McKinney of Bakersville; a brother, 
Charles Stamey of Bakersville; a sister, Hazel Grindstaff of Bakersville; 
one grandson; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Mark McKinney officiated. Burial 
was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Green-Young Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
