MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Coolidge McKinney, 11 Jun 2005

SWEET HOME, OR - Coolidge McKinney, 84, died Saturday, June 11, 2005. He was
the son of the late John and Viola Hobson McKinney of Mitchell County, and
husband of the late Verna Mae Clark McKinney. He was also preceded in death by
sisters, Bernice Lola, Jane Pepperling and Birdie Thomas; and a brother,
Walter McKinney. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of the Community Chapel
in Ames Creek, the American Legion and the VFW, and had been employed by
Champion Lumber Mill.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula McLaws of Sweet Home; sons, Robert
McKinney of Sweet Home, and Corey McKinney of Las Vegas, NV; five
grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. 

A Celebration of Life was held at 2 p.m. on June 25 at Sweet Home First
Baptist Church. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel was in charge of
arrangements.
