MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Joslyn (Josie) Lydia McKinney McMahan, 23 Mar 2005 ----¤¤¤¤---- BAKERSVILLE - Joslyn (Josie) Lydia McKinney McMahan died Wednesday, March 23, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Herman McKinney and Dolly Bowman McKinney, and wife of the late Paul McMahan. She worked for 25 years in the cafeteria at Bowman High School and was a lifelong member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and choir member. Survivors include a son, Jerry McMahan of Bakersville; a daughter, Paulette Davis of Bakersville; sisters, Elenore Buchanan of Bakersville, Cathy Foulk of Spruce Pine, and Betty Farris of Southern Pines; brothers, Roger, Jim, Roy Lee and Mike McKinney, all of Bakersville; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday at Roan Mountain Baptist Church. Revs. Mark McKinney and Don Stafford officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday in the McMahan Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 p.m. until the service hour Friday. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge of arrangements.
