SENA HUGHES MCCOURRY

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Sena H. McCourry, 87, of the Byrd Creek community, 
died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 at her home. She was the daughter of the 
late Dove and Mira Ray Hughes, and wife of the late Aspie McCourry. 
She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Park, Garfa, Dewey, 
Floyd, Conway and Cecil Hughes.
Survivors include a son, Donald Hughes of Marion; sisters, Edith 
Miller and Elva Hughes of Spruce Pine, and Gertie Barnett of Johnson 
City, TN; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Edd Davis officiated. Burial 
followed in Hughes Cemetery. The family received friends from
