BEATRICE GARLAND MCROY

BAKERSVILLE – Beatrice Garland McRoy, 77, of Battle Branch Road, died 
Wednesday, June 13, 2001 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the 
daughter of the late Veede and Etta Yelton Garland, and wife of the late 
Loral A. McRoy. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Alvis 
McRoy. A homemaker, she was a member of Logan Baptist Church in Logan, 
IL, and the Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem of Eastern Star.

Survivors include one sister, Phoebe Garland of Bakersville; and several 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. G.B. Garland officiated. 
Burial was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Garland Cemetery on Bad Creek Road. 
The family received friends from 7-8 p.m. prior to the service at the 
funeral home.
