He was the son of the late Nat and Lillie Street Miller. A member of Upper Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church, he had been employed by Henredon Furniture in Spruce Pine. He was also a vetern of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. Survivors include his wife, Lola Whitson Miller; a sister, Laura Miller Kennard of Spruce Pine; and two brothers, Wesley Miller and Nat Miller, both of Green Mountain. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Johnny Banks and Marvin Miller officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Friday in Bennett Cemetery in Green Mountain. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
