MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Mary Baker Morgan, 8 Sep 2004

BAKERSVILLE - Mary Baker Morgan, 91, of Maple Street, died Wednesday, 
Sept. 8, 2004 at Yancey Nursing Center in Burnsville. She was the 
daughter of the late George and Eleanor Teague Baker, and wife of the 
late George Bruce Morgan. She was also preceded in death by a son, 
Robert Morgan, and a brother, Charles Baker. She was retired from the 
Mitchell County School System and was a member of Bakersville Baptist 
Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a 
member of the Mitchell County Historical Society and the Retired 
Teachers Association.

Survivors include a son, George Bruce Morgan of Bakersville; sisters, 
Lucille Kirby of Commerce, GA, and Louise Ferguson of Bakersville; 
three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bakersville Baptist 
Church. Revs. Vernon Buchanan and John Stafford officiated. Burial was 
in Bakersville Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-8 
p.m. Friday at Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Memorial
