MADELINE WILSON NORMAN
SPRUCE PINE – Madeline Wilson Norman, 80, of the Bear Creek community, 
died Saturday, May 18, 2002 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was 
the daughter of the late Ernest and Addie Byrd Wilson. She was also 
preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Norman. A member of Bear Creek 
Baptist Church, she was retired from American Thread.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Massey of Statesville; a son, Tommy 
Norman of Bakersville; a sister, Mary Lee Norman of Bakersville; and two 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday in the Grindstaff memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Max Holland and Chris 
Rathbone officiated. Entombment will be in the Bear Creek Mausoleum at 
10 a.m. Tuesday. The family received friends from 6:30 p.m. until the 
service hour Monday at the funeral home.
