BETTY JEAN HUGHES ODOM 

BAKERSVILLE - Betty Jean Hughes Odom, 72, of Blevins Branch Road, died 
Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold Odom of the home; daughters, Anita 
Burleson of Spruce Pine, and Leisa Kurtz of Alpharetta, Ga.; sisters, Ann 
Brown, Treva Foster, and Nancy Goodnite; a brother, Jones Hughes; and five 
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Freewill Baptist 
Church in Buladean. Roger Laws and Uyless Miller officiated. Burial followed 
in Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens in Spruce Pine. The family received friends 
from 6-8 p.m. in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville.
