WILLIE BURNIE OLLIS 

BAKERSVILLE - Willie Burnie Ollis, 70, of Hughes Road, died Monday, July 16, 
2007, at Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Earnest 
Lee and Cora Pitman Ollis. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, 
Ted, Edd, Earl and Karl Ollis. He was a retired supervisor with Edwards Warren 
Tire Company.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Street Ollis of the home; one daughter, 
Debra Anders of Burnsville; four sons, Bobby Lee Ollis of Hartsville, S.C., 
and Bobby Lee Ollis, Danny Wayne Ollis, Steven Lewis Ollis, and Gregory Allen 
Ollis, all of Bakersville; one sister, Dorothy Buchanan of Bakersville; four 
brothers, Robert Ollis of Spruce Pine, Lee Roy and James Ollis, both of 
Bakersville, and Sammie Ollis of Hudson; and five grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Bobby Campbell and John Cullifer officiated. 
Burial was at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Melton Cemetery on Pottery Road. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral 
home.
