She was the daughter of the late John N. and Lillie Blackburn Taylor, and wife of the late Kelly Ollis. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelley Calton. She was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Melda Connelly of Morganton, and Sue Brinkley of Asheville; half-sisters, Zinnie McKinney, Lois Vance and Wanda Beal, all of Newland, Mary Helen McCanliss of Burnsville, and Ruth Painter of Lincolnton; half-brother, A.J. Painter of Charlotte; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Green Valley Baptist Church. Revs. Bryan Griffith and Rufus Biddix officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
