PEAKE Elizabethtown (Kentucky) - Max T. Peake, age 66, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, March 3, 1996 at the Healthcare Center. He was a native of Bakersville, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of First Presbyterian Church where he was a former deacon and elder. He was executive director of the Housing Authority of Elizabethtown for 14 years and headed the scholarship committee for the Kentucky Housing Association. He was a former co-publisher of the Elizabethtown Examiner, a former realtor and broker for the Adrian Skees Real Estate Agency, which later became Century 21, and a former president of the Elizabethtown Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Rex Peake and Winnie Wiseman Peake, and a brother Wayne Peake. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cox Peake; son Eric M Peake of Elizabethtown; daughter Cathy Wilson of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Rex Peake, Jr. of Sunlakes, AZ and Dr. Dean R Peake of Spruce Pine; sister Lorene Willis of Draper, VA; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 6, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. B.T. Bishop and Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. Burial was in Hardin Memorial Park.
