EDITH BENNETT PETERSON 

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Edith Bennett Peterson, 85, of Peterson Road, died Friday, 
March 9, 2007 at Erwin Health Care Center in Erwin, Tenn. She was the daughter 
of the late Jim and Mary Gouge Bennett. She was also preceded in death by 
seven sisters, Judy and Jennie Peterson, Louella Lingerfelt, Dica Peterson, 
Nerva Honeycutt, Kansas Ray and Grace Bennett; four brothers, Luther, Jeff, 
Tom and Conley Bennett.

Survivors include her husband, Grady Peterson of the home; a son, Walter Lee 
Peterson of Green Mountain; a sister, Minnie Lucus of Rising Run, Md.; a 
brother, Mack Bennett of Green Mountain; one grandson; and three great-
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Reid Bagby and Joe Brown officiated. Burial was 
at 11 a.m. Monday in Peterson Family Cemetery on Peterson Road. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the funeral 
home.
