RUSSELL PUTMAN 

BAKERSVILLE - Russell Putman, 82, of Putman Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006 
at his home. He was the son of the late Russ and Dovie Putman. He was also 
preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Mosley and Pearl Hughes; three 
brothers, Holder, Earl and Aught Putman; and one grandson, Jeremy Putman. He 
was a farmer and member of The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Beans 
Creek community.

Survivors include his wife, Olene Mosley Putman of the home; a son, Jerry 
Putman of Bakersville; two daughters, Janice Garden of Bakersville, and Judy 
Miller of Green Mountain; one sister, Daisy Hicks of Johnson City, TN; two 
grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. G.B. Garland and Howard Honeycutt 
officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Sunday in Russell Putman Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
