ROBERT FRED PUTMAN 

BAKERSVILLE - Robert Fred Putman,73 died Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Life 
Care Center in Elizabethton, Tenn. A native of Mitchell County, he was the son 
of the late Roy Putman and Stella Street Putman. He was also preceded in death 
by one granddaughter, Tina Burleson. He was retired form General Motors in 
Cleveland Ohio.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Burleson of Bakersville, and Sandra 
Hanley of Mentor, Ohio; three sons, Robert Putman Jr. of Hickory, Roger Putman 
of Reno, Nev., and Randall Putman of Lovell, Wyo.; three sisters, Frances Odom 
of Bakersville, Trula Taylor of Knoxville, Tenn., and Roma Jean Ziebrowski of 
Ohio; two brothers, Floyd Putman and Kenneth Putman, both of Ohio; 11 
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services were at 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral 
Home in Bakersville. Randy English and Bobby Campbell officiated. Burial was 
at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hughes Cemetery on Odoms Chapel Road in Bakersville. 
The family received friends from 5:30 p.m.until the service hour.
