MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Ruth Yelton Palmer, 29 Sep 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- RUTH YELTON PALMER ELIZABETHTON, TN - Ruth Yelton Palmer, 84, of Bobs Hollow Road, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Wess and Pearl Forbes Yelton, and wife of the late Roland Palmer. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Alma June Thomas of Burnsville, and Kaye Berg of Elizabethton; five sisters, Mary Graybeal of Spruce Pine, Charlotte Yelton and Willis Normal, both of Gastonia, Dixie Hoilman of Unicoi,TN, and Ann Melton of Aiken, SC; one brother, Earl Yelton of Unicoi; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Robert McCurry officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Friday in Garland Cemetery on Bad Creek Road. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
