HATTIE DAVIS PARSONS

BAKERSVILLE - Hattie Davis Parsons, 91, of Gastonia, died Friday, 
Apr. 4, 2003 at Kings Mountain Hospital. She was the daughter of the 
late Henderson and Bertha Bowditch Davis, and wife of the late Rev. 
Frank Parsons. She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Parsons; 
two sisters, Vera Riddle and Maude Bennett; brothers, Fred, Jack, 
Thanes and Lawrence Davis. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church 
and for many years was a house parent at Baptist Children's Home in 
Thomasville.
Survivors include a daughter, Claudia Kinlaw of Gastonia; a brother, 
marvin Davis of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren; three great 
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Randy Wise, Bob Bodenhamer, 
Clifton Kinlaw and Karl Leonard officiated. Burial was in Mine Creek 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service 
hour Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Mine 
Creek Cemetery Fund, c/o Fleet Hensley, Mine Creek Road, Bakersville, 
NC 28705.
