FRANK JAMES PHILLIPS 

MORGANTON – Frank James Phillips, 90, formerly of Mitchell County, died 
Thursday, March 15, 2001 in a Morganton hospital. He was the son of the late 
Dexter and Betty Young Phillips. He was a member of Calvary Baptist church in 
Morganton. 

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Mitchell Phillips; daughters, Shirley 
Ogle of Cary, Frankie Winters of Boston, MA, Linda Laughter of Blowing Rock 
and Debbie Phillips of Morganton; son, Arnold Phillips of Shelby; seven 
grandchildren; and one grandchild. 

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bear Creek 
Cemetery. Rev. Max Holland officiated. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in 
charge of arrangements.
