GLENN FRANKLIN PHILLIPS

BAKERSVILLE - Glenn Franklin Phillips, 72, of Hobson Road, died 
Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at his residence. He was the son of the late 
James Oscar and Nora Stewart Phillips. He was also preceded in 
death by a daughter, Glenda Phillips Benfield, and one brother, 
Eugene Phillips. He was retired from Henredon Furniture.
Survivors include his wife, June Ledford Phillips of the home; one 
daughter, Vickie Sweeney of Hickory; four sons, David, Marvin and 
Scotty Phillips, all of Bakersville, and Ronald Phillips of Marion; 
five sisters, Dorothy Hoilman, Ruth Hoilman, Catherine Phillips, 
Edna Street and Sue Garland, all of Bakersville; two brothers, Leonard 
and Arnold Phillips of Bakersville; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Clifford Willis and G.B. 
Garland. Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday in Malone Gouge Cemetery.
