MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Thelma Mae Phillips, 26 Apr 2004

BAKERSVILLE - Thelma Mae Phillips, 89, of Sweet Creek Road, died 
Monday, Apr. 26, 2004 at her home. She was the daughter of the late 
John and Lillie Wilson Hoilman, and wife of the late Arthur Phillips. 
She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Lizzie Hughes, Etta 
Rowe, Bessie Hoilman, Pearl Phillips and Rosa Sparks.

Survivors include two sisters, Faye Robinson of Bakersville, and Clara 
Belle Arrowood of Johnson City, TN; a brother, George Lee Hoilman of 
JohnsonCity; and several nieces and nephews. 
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Bob McKinney and Wade Boone 
officated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Thursday in Slagle Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Wednesday at the 
funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell 
County, P.O. box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
