KATHLEEN BUCHANAN PITTMAN

HICKORY – Kathleen Buchanan Pittman, 71, died Sunday, May 27, 2001 at the Frye 
Regional Medical Center. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of 
Clifton P. and Mae Earley Buchanan, and wife of the late Glenn Pittman. She 
was also preceded in death by a son, Glenn Andrew Pittman; a brother, Cecil 
Buchanan; and a sister, Lela Buchanan. She was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church in Hickory.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Wallace of Hickory; two sons, Gary 
Pittman of Connelly Springs, and Gene Pittman of Hickory; brothers, Chester 
Buchanan of Lenoir and Ernest E. Buchanan of Bakersville; sisters, Veda 
Buchanan of Hickory, Ida Schultz of Hudson, and Margaret Masters of
Bakersville; and two granddaughters.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. 
Rev. Bert Dixon officiated. Burial was in Cane Creek Freewill Baptist Church 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.
